Introducing the Hall Of Justice Recording Class! An interactive, small group, six session class focused on learning the technical skills required to become comfortable working in a commercial recording studio environment. Taught from the Historic “Hall Of Justice” Recording Studio in Seattle

Classes are 2 hours each, with the exception of session 6, which is a 3 hour recording session. Spots are first come first serve

The Next Class Schedule Is:

Session 1: Wednesday 9/24
Session 2: Wednesday 10/1
Session 3: Wednesday 10/8
Session 4: Wednesday 10/15
Session 5: Wednesday 10/22
Session 6 Final: Tuesday 10/28 OR Wednesday 10/29 - Students will schedule a 3 hour final with time slots available at 10:30am, 2:30pm and 6:30pm

All proceeds from Hall Of Justice Recording Class go directly to the studio to help pay for operating and maintenance costs to keep the studio affordable and accessible to the community.

FAQs

  • Anyone with interest in audio recording! It’s good for people who want to bridge the gap between recording at home and working in a commercial studio, or anyone simply hoping to expand their knowledge of recording techniques!

  • $780 for the whole class.

    You can either pay $780 up front ( preferred ) or weekly ( $130 per session. )

  • For weeks 1-5, we run two classes. One that starts at 5:30PM and one that starts at 8PM.

    The last week ( 6th week ) of classes is a special 3 hour class. Students will sign up for a time slot on either a Tuesday or Wednesday.

  • Producer/engineers Mike Vernon Davis and Samuel Rosson will be instructing the class. Both Sam and Mike have 10+years of experience and have worked in recording studios around the globe. Sam and Mike are both active working producer / engineers.

  • No! We do not operate under the pretense that a certification is necessary.

  • We will be using Pro Tools for some of the demonstrations in the studio! Though the emphasis of our course will not be on learning a DAW (Pro Tools).

    Instead, the emphasis will be on studio etiquette, signal flow, routing and skills that are more difficult to acquire at home. The majority of hands on exercises will be used with our 24 track tape machine.

  • Not at the moment! Though, if we get enough interest we will look into doing a consecutive class!

  • The classes will be completely first come first serve!

  • We bill via Quickbooks invoices, which accept most Debit / Credit Cards as well as bank transfers. Payment plans may be possible by request, though an up front payment is preferred.
